Four Seasons Resort Lanai Unveils Lanai Gingerbread City Today

Gingerbread village at Koele

I normally provide my own commentary about events, but since the folks at Four Seasons Resort Lanai have done such a great job describing their gingerbread city, I thought I’d share the press release directly from them.

Four Seasons Resort Lana’i, The Lodge at Koele is sharing sweet tidings with the creation of the Lana’i Gingerbread City. Inspired by Lana’i City’s charming plantation-style architecture, Executive Pastry Chef Rabii Saber has created a candy-licious rendition of select boutiques, stores and art galleries in Dole Park to sweeten up the holidays.

The Lana’i Gingerbread City will be unveiled on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 4:00 pm in the Great Hall. In addition, guests may also participate in a silent auction to sponsor a sugary version of the Lana’i Culture & Heritage Center. The other edible structures and iconic Cook Island pine trees will also be available for sponsorship, ranging in price from USD 25.00 to 250.00, through December 27, 2011. Proceeds from the auction and Gingerbread City sponsorship will benefit the Lana’i Community Association, a non-profit coalition to aid the advancement and development of Lana’i.

“This is a unique opportunity for visitors to give the gift of aloha to the community,” says Tom Roelens, general manager ofFour Seasons Resorts Lana’i. “The Lana’i Community Association will benefit from the support throughout the year and the spirit of the holidays will continue indefinitely, not just in December.”

The festivities will also include an official tree lighting ceremony, Keiki cookie decorating station, complimentary hot chocolate and hot cider station that afternoon. The decorative Lana’i Gingerbread City will be on display in the Great Hall through December 27, 2011.

Owning a piece of Hawaii real estate has never been so rewarding, or sweet.
