Interesting Day Trips to Lanai

From Maui, you can take some neat day trips to Lanai.  One way to see Lanai for a day trip is via the Lahaina-Lanai Ferry.  You can either take the ferry trip only or add on golf, clay shooting, or other tours.  Their website details a number of options.

If you are like me, you like to find the unique, “non-cattle car” type excursions.  Trillogy Excursions out of Lahaina offers a few interesting day trips to Lanai.  Though I have not taken these particular excursions, I have sailed with Trilogy to Molokini twice and was very pleased with the quailty of the excursions.   Click on these links to see these very cool day trips to Lanai that Trilogy offers:

  • Ultimate Seafari that includes snorkeling, adventure rafting, guided tour of Lanai and delicious meals.
  • Discover Lanai All Day Sunrise or Sunset Trip that includes snorkeling and either a lunch or dinner served overlooking Manele Bay.

I love being on the water and being able to look back onto Maui.  From a boat, you can really appeciate the beautiful blue water in contrast to the lush green rugged terrain of the island.

  1. Monica – Lana’i is an interesting island with a totally different feel (laid back) than Maui. Personally I think it’s worth it.

      1. You’re welcome.

It’s always nice to be able to add another island to your experience.

If you get a chance, have lunch up at the club house for The Challenge Golf Course. It is my favorite spot for lunch in all of Hawaii. https://govisithawaii.com/2008/03/25/restaurant-on-lanai-with-a-view/ If you can walk over to the Four Seasons at Manele, you can catch a free shuttle up to the golf course for lunch.

Another not-to-be-missed spot is seeing Puupehe (Sweetheart Rock) which is convenient to the Manele Bay and near where the ferry stops. https://govisithawaii.com/2007/09/07/lanais-puu-pehe-sweetheart-rock/
