The Polynesian Cultural Center on Oahu really does a great job introducing you to the Polynesian music. The center has created a village representing each major grouping of islands. The following video was shot in the Hawaiian village. Cousin Benny explains the origins of the Hawaiian nose flute and then plays it for us. (If the video doesn’t appear in your e-mail, click here to access it, then click on the arrow.)

Hi Sheila,
That video brought back some nice memories of PCC. Believe me, playing a nose flute is a lot harder than it looks, especially if you have a cold.
Cousin Benny’s daughter is on the US Olympic Team and scored the first goal in their last game. I wish their team the best in China!
Aloha,
Chris
Aloha Chris – I thought Cousin Benny was a delightful man. Go USA women’s soccer team!
If ever they pass around the nose flute for practice, I want to go before anyone that has a cold. 😉
